Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

Stateside entertainer Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, like:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".

"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
