The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome may have opened things up for the Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their eight and two competitors
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a major confrontation in week 11, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the start as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the squad's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two scores
Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just eighty-six yards, their fewest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard average
Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute drive yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to a touchdown just two plays
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to rescue his squad from the situation - not the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
Miami have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Regarding the Patriots, they're one of three 8-2 squads in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the top team?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, the Broncos and the Colts actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver
Denver beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Buffalo appears to be a declaration
Their pair of losses came in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive victories, similar to the Broncos, since then - but taking down Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was significant
Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly earns point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to steer his side to success
The defensive unit is solid and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth runner to exceed 22mph this year on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the best' is technically, the Pats should be favourites to finish with the top record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a successful opponent, albeit a significant contest against the Bills
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jaguars to contend with. There's a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Clash
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different 8-2 sides are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who both put up forty points to go to 7-2 before the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the pair in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses giving up fewer than twenty points a contest
Both could realistically be without a loss as too - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Eagles for a score
Seattle also lost to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly two of the top teams in the league
The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year to date
Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a historic year after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and contributing an additional forty-two {receiving yards
