Fresh particulars have surfaced about the shocking deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the home. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

Upon entering the home, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Afterward, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody and denied bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

The source also disputed widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction also extends to accounts of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a event thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
